the work I make is a response firstly to finding joy and silliness in the small stuff and the everyday forgotten

#homestudioloading

The denial and disconnected aspects of the urban or ego driven human is revealed through our need to show off /and to distract ourselves into a comfortable abundant glut of information and possessions.

Sometimes I document things in my home-studio through a corresponding and escalating collection of watercolours.  Although I try not to buy new plastic things for my own homeloading I am drawn to it as if it were honey.

Sandra is a Sydney based artist, who relishes in the process of re-layering her handmade images of the everyday alongside a candy allsorts of street throw-outs to form playful, environmentally concerned installations. Sandra has participated in numerous artist residency programs, solo and group exhibitions and collaborative projects. I Give To You the Palaces of Montezuma (title from a Grinderman's love song) was shaped into something like a Christmas bauble for SLOT window gallery in Redfern, partially as a tribute to the years when she was the proprietor of the sassy vintage shop Broadway Betty in the 2000’s.
